Message from our Patron, Fiona Wade:
“Your legacy will help to save lives. Please remember The OPA in your Will and help us to continue our fight against oesophageal and gastric cancer.
Ten years ago I lost my father to oesophageal cancer. He was such an amazing person, the best father I could ever with for and it was so sad and shocking when he was diagnosed. I had never heard of this type of cancer before and I always feel to this day that if we had been more aware of oesophageal cancer or reflux disease then for sure earlier diagnosis would have made a huge difference and maybe saved his life.
Early diagnosis by spreading awareness is absolutely key in saving lives from this cancer, so please help us to carry on doing all we can to make people more aware and help us to save lives and to support and reassure every patient who needs our help. Thank you.”
A gift in your Will is a special way you can help patients, their families and friends touched by oesophageal and gastric cancer, in what can be a lonely nightmare.
Whatever amount you are able to leave will go directly towards supporting people who are coping with this devastating disease. Your gift could also help to save lives by supporting our campaign to increase public awareness of the importance of early diagnosis.
- A gift of £500 could give 20 patients much needed support and reassurance from clinical advisers and former patients.
- A gift of £1,000 could establish a patient support group in your area for 100 or more people who are unable to travel long distances to their nearest. Your gift could give 100 patients, carers and families the opportunity to discuss their concerns with medical experts and former patients.
- A gift of £30,000 could provide comfort for 1000 patients through enabling us to provide pillow support/bed wedges.
